TWS Scholarship Leadership Awards UPPER SECONDARY
Are you a student in Form 4 (Year 10), Form 5 (Year 11), or DP1 (Year 12)? Have you demonstrated excellence and leadership in academics, sports, community engagement and social responsibility or the arts? Do you want to leave a lasting impact on The Wingate School community? If yes, read on!
The Wingate School is pleased to announce six merit-based Scholarship Awards for Leadership for the academic year 2025-26. These awards are designed to celebrate applicants’ success and recognize your leadership in different arenas while inviting award recipients to develop and enrich our school culture. In addition to the financial award (which will be structured as a percentage discount on monthly fees), TWS Leadership Award recipients will enjoy an unprecedented opportunity to lead impactful initiatives and collaborate with school leadership to implement their proposals.
Applications are open to students who are currently in Form 4 (Year 10) or higher and who have demonstrated excellence in one or more of the following areas:
– Academic achievement
– Athletic performance and leadership
– Community engagement and social responsibility
– Cultural contributions (e.g., music, arts, drama)
Award recipients will be required to sign a commitment letter pledging exemplary behaviour and active engagement with/contribution to a positive school culture and environment.
To apply, please submit the following:
1. A 300-350-word Personal Statement that describes your achievements in academics, sports, or cultural activities and highlights specific examples of your leadership attributes and their impact on your peers or the wider community.
2. A 1-2 page proposal outlining a concrete plan for how you will contribute to developing a positive school culture. Be specific about initiatives, programs, or activities you would initiate or support to promote collaboration, inclusivity, and school spirit.
3. Any supporting evidence of your accomplishments, including certificates, awards, or other recognitions and/or portfolios (for cultural or artistic achievements).
4. A letter of recommendation from a teacher, coach, or mentor attesting to the applicant’s leadership qualities.
Criteria:
Applications will be evaluated based on:
– The depth and impact of demonstrated achievements;
– Leadership attributes reflected in the student’s record; and,
– Feasibility and creativity of your proposed contributions to school culture.
In order to apply for the coming academic year (2025-26), please submit your application materials to Ms. Ximena Talayero via email (xtalayero@wingate.edu.mx) by Monday, January 13, 2025. If you have any questions or require any additional information, please contact Mr. Vinay Jawahar, Head of Secondary, at vjawahar@wingate.edu.mx
We look forward to working with inspiring young leaders from within the Wingate School community. Step forward and leave a legacy!
